Who is The Joe Steward Group?

The Joe Steward Group was formed in 2006 by a team of Ag professionals who recognized the need for agricultural stewardship promotion. This endeavor ultimately united and harnessed the expertise of Todd McCartney, Dr. Ron Gill, Lesli Groves, and Clay Cowdrey. These diversely talented specialists provide an arsenal of unique skills and knowledge to serve the people of agriculture.  (See Team Profile page.)

What is "Ag-Stewardship?"

The concept of Agricultural Stewardship runs deeper than topics of soil erosion or prudent estate planning. In fact, contrary to current perceptions, it doesn't even require totally organic or all-natural principles. Although these methods are commendable and often are a component of good stewardship practices, they are not a litmus test for good stewardship. Simply put, Ag-Stewardship is about "doing what's right" in every aspect of our agricultural vocation. This even includes giving others the opportunity to do the right thing as well - - from how we handle our cattle to how we handle our family... from the food we produce to the employees that help us produce it. Ag-Stewardship means wisely managing all the resources we're given... the land, the livestock and the people who manage them.
